St. Bartholomew Parish in Manchester welcomes Linda Sterner as Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Originally from Catonsville, Maryland,  Linda has been a member of St. Bartholomew's for the past 10 years.  Linda and husband, Thomas, have three children, Jenny, 15; Rusty, 14; and Stacie, 5.

While becoming a member of the Religious Education staff is new to Linda, teaching religious education is not.  Linda has been a catechist at St. Bartholomew's and also at St. Mark's, her former parish in Catonsville.  As a youth minister, Linda's goals are to enrich the parish youth spiritually.  Additionally, from the perspective of a parent, she wants to provide safe recreational activities for the youth.  With this in mind, Linda has already taken the parish youth on an outing to the local corn maze, and has planned for December to take the youth group to a theatrical performance of "The Christmas Miracle" in Lancaster.  Plans for a high school dance are also on the December calendar!

Another area Linda will focus her youth ministry efforts on is community service.  Linda is a firm believer in strengthening the youths' self esteem by teaching them how they can contribute to the community.  "Our youth need to realize they can make a difference in their community - and they can!"

Central Maryland - and the parents of St. Bartholomew youth - extend a special welcome to Linda!
